It’s a big name that’s leaving. On January 10, Jean-Luc Petitrenaud died in Paris at the age of 74. The French gastronomic columnist, radio and television host was known to the general public thanks to several of his shows. He notably presented Gourmet postcardon France 5. Then, on the same channel, he was the face of The escapades of Petitrenaudfrom 2006 to 2017. His collaboration with France 5 did not end very well. At the time, he revealed in the columns of Télé Star that the fact that the show was stopping was not “no fact.” If it ended for budgetary reasons, he had not been informed. He had learned the news from production, not from the channel. It was his two children, Antonin and Louise, who shared the sad announcement of his death with AFP. In a brief statement, the food critic’s eldest daughter and her little brother thanked “everyone who loved him all these years” and assured that he had finished his last days with his family.
