Australian Open – Five Belgians involved in six doubles matches Thursday in Melbourne, including Elise Mertens

Kimberley Zimmermann (WTA D-90) and the Polish Katarzyna Kawa (WTA D-88) will play their first round against the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (WTA D-62) from the opening at 1:00 a.m. (Belgian time) on court N.11. and the Chinese Yuan Yue (WTA D-72).

For once, David Goffin (ATP D-855) will participate in the men’s doubles, after his early exit in singles. With the Frenchman Alexandre Muller (ATP D-263), he will have a lot to do against the Germans Kewin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, 9th and 10th in the world and seeded N.4. The meeting will open court N.12 at 1 a.m.

Sander Gillé (ATP D-37) and the Pole Jan Zielinski (ATP D-25), seeded N.13, will play in the third rotation, at 3:30 a.m. at the earliest, on court N.11. They will face the Chinese Bu Yunchaokete (ATP D-726) and the Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena (ATP D-298).

Involved in mixed doubles, Gillé will line up in the fifth rotation on court N.15 with the Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski against the Finnish Harri Heliovaara and the Kazakh Anna Danilina.

Earlier, his former partner Joran Vliegen will have started his journey with the Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, facing the Russian Alexandra Panova and the Briton Lloyd Glasspool in third rotation on court N.8
