Since the broadcast of the report, seen on screen by 2.95 million viewers, social networks have gone into panic. The sequence, repeated in a loop, is the subject of ridicule from Internet users. The supposed gullibility of the victim, a novice in social networks, has been parodied thousands of times. Even the Seine-Maritime gendarmerie commented on the sequence. “This woman who fell in love with a fake Brad Pitt would certainly not have been fooled if she was subscribed to our account… Thanks to our advice, you are out of danger! Isn’t it? » could be read on X, before backpedaling.

Netflix also joked about the report, listing four films available on its platform in which the American star appears. “4 films to see with Brad Pitt (promise) it’s a gift,” indicates the platform on X.

The replay deleted

Since Monday, the report is no longer visible in replay on the front page platform. “Following the broadcast, and faced with the extent of the mockery and the denigration campaign of which she is the target on social networks, we considered, in responsibility and in mutual agreement with the victim, to stop the phenomenon and remove the replay of the show,” explained Grégoire Marçais, deputy director of Élephant, the magazine’s production company, to TF1 Info.

“This subject highlights the extreme danger that those we call grazers represent today. An expanding scourge: more than 1,200 people were victims of it in last year, 80% of whom were women,” underlined Philippe Pécoul, producer and editorial director of Éléphant, specifying that “the terrible story of this woman is intended to arouse caution.”

In a message posted on the X account of Seven to eightthe channel confirms that it is “an information program which neutrally deals with social problems. The report broadcast this Sunday sparked a wave of harassment against a witness. For the protection of victims, we have decided to remove it from our platforms.”
