Around twenty people were evacuated during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, in Visp, due to a fire. The cantonal police were informed of a fire breaking out in a building on Bahnhofstrasse at 2:30 a.m.
The cantonal and municipal police, as well as the firefighters of Visp, Lonza and Brig immediately went to the scene, accompanied by several ambulances.
The fire was brought under control at 4:30 a.m. and definitively extinguished at 7 a.m., cantonal police spokesperson Stève Léger told us. Two people were taken to hospital for a check-up.
