ChatGPT users can now set reminders and schedule future actions.
OpenAI is launching a new beta feature in ChatGPT called Tasks. It allows users to set recurring actions and reminders.
Scheduled tasks
The Verge writes that OpenAI wants ChatGPT to be more like a traditional digital assistant, like Google Assistant or Siri, for example. For example, ChatGPT was recently able to speak and analyze videos. The big difference is that ChatGPT has a more advanced language. The Tasks feature allows you to set up to ten recurring actions at certain times. Think about a weather report at 8 a.m. or a reminder to put out the trash bags on the right day.
To use this feature, subscribers must select the “4o with scheduled tasks” model. This model also works simply through text prompts. Tasks are managed in the chat conversation or in the new “Tasks” section. Tasks can be easily modified or canceled there.
-OpenAI has not yet indicated whether the tasks will be available to non-subscribers in the future. The feature is currently available for Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers.
