The affair caused a lot of noise. This Sunday January 12, 2025, Seven to Eight devoted a report to a French woman named Anne, who was scammed on the web. How ? For a year and a half, she believed she was having an affair with Brad Pitt.
This 53-year-old mother thought she was discussing, on social networkswith the famous actor. But in reality she was victim of a terrible scam imagined with the aim of extracting from him maximum money.
Indeed, over the course of the exchanges, the fake Brad Pitt asks him for money for treatment. Anne would have sent 600 dollars every three days to pay for the supposed dialysis of the man with whom she thought she was talking. This French woman was scammed out of 830,000 euros.
The least we can say is that this affair has caused a lot of ink to flow on the Web. While many people were saddened by the situation of this mother, now ruined, others were particularly amused by rough edits sent to the victim. Montages in which we could see Brad Pitt on a hospital bed.
“Anne is our client”
While this affair is still making a lot of noise, the X account, formerly Twitter, FindMyScammer, is making new revelations. “Anne is our client, we found the crooks who stole her €830,000”they indicated, before specifying that they would say more about this terrible story in the days to come.
The end of the nightmare for the victim? Account a “fragile” woman who is currently ill. He also emphasizes that the mother has nothing left: “It’s his daughter Margaux who helps him provide for his needs”. Thus, he denounces the mockery which his client is subject to.
TF1 reacts
In the process, TF1 took a radical decision. The channel has decided to delete the documentary of the replay of his show. “Sept à Huit is a news program which neutrally deals with social problems. The report broadcast this Sunday sparked a wave of harassment against a witness. For the protection of victims, we have decided to remove it from our platforms”explained the front page.
Hopefully the channel’s message is taken into account.
