Franck Thilliez, president of the 56th Maison de la Presse Prize

Among the 12 selected works, the Reading Committee will announce the 6 finalists who will be proposed to the Jury. The latter, made up of around thirty people – the vast majority of booksellers who own a business under the Maison de la Presse brand – will meet to deliberate. The 56th Maison de la Presse Prize will be awarded by the President of the Jury during a special evening organized in , on Thursday May 15.

Franck Thilliez, a former engineer in new technologies, is today a major figure in French thrillers. From Hell train for Red Angel (2003), he multiplies his successes with novels like Sharko, Syndrome E or Pandemic – published by Fleuve – mixing suspense, police investigations and psychological explorations.

His thrillers, imbued with scientific realism, are embodied by investigators Franck Sharko and Lucie Henebelle, emblematic characters of the writer, complex but always very human heroes.

In addition to his activity as a novelist, Franck Thilliez is renowned as a screenwriter for television projects, notably Obsessions and Insoupçonnable. Translated internationally and awarded several times, it has established itself as a reference in contemporary thrillers.
