The Portuguese Nuno Borges silenced the ranks of the Australian public this Wednesday. He deprived one of his favorites, the No. 27 seed Jordan Thompson, from the third round (6-3, 6-2, 6-4).
Borges, the first unseeded player in the table as 33rd in the ATP world, will face the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, seeded n°3.
The Portuguese won against the Frenchman Alexandre Muller (6-7 [2]6-3, 6-2, 7-5), before his success against Thompson.
