”If the draft were to be redone, Lane Hutson should be chosen Top-2”

After spending weeks doubting young Lane Hutson’s abilities to make his mark as a future elite defenseman in the NHL, analyst Simon ”Snake” Boisvert finally reviewed his analysis and decided to make his mea culpa.

During the most recent podcast ProcessBoisvert admitted to having made the mistake he blamed so many analysts for when he believed that Hutson’s physical abilities would prevent him from making a high-level spot in the NHL. We will remember that he described it as ”gadget player” during certain episodes of the podcast.

He goes further, comparing it to Quinn Hughes et Phil Housleyhe claims that he is the best offensive defender of the Montreal Canadiens since PK Subban and that he sees him producing at a rate of around one point per game, or more than 80 points per year, in the very near future.

In addition, if the 2022 draft were to be redone, he believes that the young defender should be selected Top-2 of all prospects. Nothing less! Remember that the Canadian drafted Hutson 62nd overall.

However, he is not the CH attacker Juraj Slafkovsky that he sees in this Top-2 with him but the attacker Logan Cooley of Utah HC. According to him, Cooley or Hutson are currently on an equal footing in his eyes in this vintage.

Let’s say that this is a spectacular turnaround, to say the least. We have to take our hats off to him for showing humility and taking the time to admit his mistake. He also made an official statement to explain why he missed the Hutson boat.
