Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is going through tumultuous times both on and off the pitch. After a difficult period in terms of results with his team, which he has led since 2016, Guardiola seems to be returning to some form with recent victories. However, he is facing a new crisis—one that is impacting his personal life, as he and his wife, Cristina Serra, have decided to separate after a 30-year relationship and three children together, according to sources close to the coach who wished to remain anonymous regarding the reasons for this separation. Guardiola is renowned for his discretion, especially when it comes to his private life.
The decision was reportedly made jointly last December, and true to the nature of their relationship, they opted to handle the news with complete discretion until it recently became public. “They asked their inner circle to keep things private and refrain from sharing details with the press,” Mamarazzis podcast sources said.

By the time they married, the couple had already shared two decades together, supporting each other through the most difficult times of their lives. While Guardiola continued her professional commitments in Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom, Serra maintained her role as a fashion businesswoman, albeit from afar.

The British media were quick to catch wind of the news of the split, suggesting that this marital dissolution could be a factor in the poor run of results currently affecting Guardiola’s team, and attributing it to his recent public behavior, which has included “confrontations with fans” and attitudes visibly different from his usual behavior.
