The Austrian Katharina Liensberger flew this Tuesday, January 14, the first round of the Flachau slalom in Austria, counting for the Alpine Skiing World Cup.
In front of her audience, Liensberger set off with bib 5 and crossed the line 75 hundredths ahead of the Swiss Wendy Holdener and 94 hundredths ahead of the Swede Sara Hector. All the other skiers are relayed by more than a second.

Without the American Mikaela Shiffrin nor the Slovak Petra Vlhova, winners of the last six editions of the Flachau slalom, but both injured this winter, Liensberger can achieve her fourth World Cup victory, her first since March 2022.
Winner of the last two slaloms, and currently at the top of the specialty ranking, Croatian Zrinka Ljutic made a huge mistake in the first run. If she was able to finish the race, she is 3 seconds 70 behind the leader and will not see the second round (34e).
