Jurgen Klopp on leaving Liverpool: ‘When I feel like I’m not the right man, I leave. I realized it was enough’

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, now 57, has accepted the role of global director of football for the Red Bull brand.

Klopp held his first press conference as global director of football at Red Bull after leaving his role at Liverpool. The former manager discussed what motivated him to leave the English club and his acceptance of this new professional challenge.

Regarding his departure from Liverpool, Klopp did not specify the reasons for his decision, but his response was unequivocal.

“There’s one thing you can’t accuse me of: I’ve always said I love what I do. Always. However, the moment I feel like I’m not the right man for work – and this has always been the case at every club I have been to, Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool – so I speak up I value honesty, and after realizing that. It was enough, I left,” he began.

The German spoke about his current responsibilities and assured that he had no difficulty adapting, considering himself a curious person.
