Dutch international Donyell Malen (25), finalist in the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund in 2024, signed on Tuesday with the English club Aston Villa. Both clubs announced it.

A winger on the right side preferably, Donyell Malen was trained at Ajax and Arsenal. Coincidentally with the calendar, he joins Aston Villa, who travel to Arsenal’s Emirates stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Neither the duration of the contract nor the amount of the transfer have been communicated, while the German media mention a sum close to 30 million euros, bonus included.
-Malen arrived in Dortmund in the summer of 2021, from PSV Eindhoven. He finished in second place in the Bundesliga in 2023, and played in a Champions League final with Dortmund in 2024, lost against Real Madrid (2-0). He scored 39 goals and provided 20 assists in 132 matches with the Black and Yellows.
At Aston Villa, he will compete with Leon Bailey on the right side and captain John McGinn or Morgan Rogers on the left side of the attacking animation of Unai Emery’s team.
