Montreal Canadiens forward Emil Heineman was struck by a vehicle while walking in Salt Lake City, Utah, Monday afternoon.
“Heineman suffered an upper body injury and will be out for three to four weeks,” the Habs said in a laconic post on their social networks on Tuesday.
The organization mentioned that Heineman was alone at the time of the incident, and clarified that the team will not recall any players from the Laval Rocket for the moment.
Salt Lake City police officers were also stingy with comments related to this case, limiting themselves to saying that the incident occurred Monday afternoon, around 2:55 p.m. local time, in Salt Lake City.

The 23-year-old Swede has scored 10 goals and amassed seven assists in 41 games this season with the Bleu-blanc-rouge, and he has a differential of +2.
The Canadiens acquired Heineman from the Calgary Flames on February 14, 2022 along with Tyler Pitlick, a conditional first round pick (which became Filip Mesar) and a fifth round pick in the 2023 draft (which became Yevgeni Volokhin), in return for striker Tyler Toffoli.
Heineman was selected in the second round, 43e overall, by the Florida Panthers in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
The Canadian will play his next match Tuesday evening against Utah HC, at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. He also trained there on Monday.
