An altercation occurred between several people on Tuesday around 1 p.m. at the federal asylum center in Bure (JU). “A resident was attacked by other residents of the same center,” indicates the Jura cantonal police. A stab wound was made to the victim’s neck. Cantonal police officers provided him with first aid. The man was then taken to hospital to undergo surgery. His life is not in danger.
Two suspects who potentially participated in the events were identified and arrested. Criminal proceedings for attempted murder have been opened. Police do not release the ages or nationalities of those involved. In October, the State Secretariat for Migration announced that the temporary center in Bure would be closed in the coming months.
