The two sides agreed to intensify dialogue, strengthen political trust and promote delegation exchanges at all levels and through various channels to create a cornerstone for the comprehensive development of bilateral relations, especially in the areas economy, trade, investment, energy, oil and gas, education, training, culture, tourism, science and technology and cooperation between localities .

Noting that there is still plenty of room for trade cooperation, they stressed the need for revolutionary solutions to increase bilateral trade, including effectively utilizing the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) free trade agreement. , of which Russia is a member, and continuing to explore ways to open their markets to each other’s products, such as agricultural and pharmaceutical products.

The two Prime Ministers stressed the importance of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee. They also highlighted the crucial role of cooperation in science and technology, expressing hope for continued collaboration in building a nuclear science and technology research center in Vietnam.

Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin noted that Russia is working with many countries on the development of nuclear energy and is willing to participate in the construction of Vietnam’s nuclear industry. He also suggested strengthening ties in areas such as healthcare, labor and pharmaceuticals.

Deepen cooperation on humanist issues

Both sides stressed their desire to deepen cooperation in humanistic issues and recognized the importance of collaboration in education and training. They agreed to strengthen the teaching of Vietnamese and Russian languages ​​in their respective countries while promoting cooperation through the Vietnam-Russia Consortium of Technical Universities.

Russia will continue to offer scholarships to help Vietnam train human resources in the fields of science, technology and arts, the Russian Prime Minister said.

The leaders agreed to intensify people-to-people exchanges and ties between localities. Cultural exchange activities and regular artistic shows will be organized, particularly on the occasion of the 75e anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations, in order to strengthen mutual understanding between the two peoples.

They also discussed measures to strengthen tourism ties, noting that the resumption of regular direct flights and charter flights between the two countries has contributed to an increase in tourism exchanges.

In addition, both sides agreed to promote cooperation in transport connectivity, including maritime, rail and urban. Regarding the outstanding issues, the two Prime Ministers instructed relevant ministries and agencies to discuss, review and propose solutions to resolve them in a manner that ensures the harmonious interests of both parties.

During the talks, the leaders also discussed some international and regional issues of common concern, as well as cooperation in international forums. They affirmed that their countries would maintain close coordination and mutual support in multilateral forums.

Pham Minh Chinh proposed that Russia support efforts to ensure security, safety and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, and resolve disputes through peaceful means based on international law and the Charter of United Nations, in particular the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

At the end of their meeting, the two Prime Ministers signed a joint communiqué reporting the results of the Russian Prime Minister’s official visit to Vietnam and witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements in the fields of science, information and culture.

Earlier, Prime Minister Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum and laid a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street in Hanoi.
