On January 10, Jean-Pierre Dermit, Mayor of Biot, accompanied by the Municipal Council, presented his wishes to the Biotois for 2025 and presented the third “Golden Bulles”, trophies which reward the Biotois and the Biotois having participated in the influence of the city. The City of Biot Medal was also awarded to a personality who has distinguished himself for his creativity.
For the 3rd year in a row, five citizens of Biot were honored during the ceremony of the mayor’s wishes to the population. Through the “Golden Bulles”, a trophy which echoes the history of Biot, labeled Ville et Métiers d’Art since 1997 for the glass profession, Jean-Pierre Dermit wanted to reward talented Biotoises and Biotois who have particularly distinguished themselves in the fields of sport, citizenship and innovation.
The 2025 “Golden Bulles” winners
– Armel Tora-Mainguy, become, at the age of 11, departmental champion of road safety 2024;
– Agate AssoulineFrench dressage champion with her horse Vasco at only 15 years old;
– Pierre Caléca, French champion of kungfu, Chinese boxing and 6 times French champion of taekwondo, who makes Biot taekwondo shine in national and international competitions with Taekwondo Biot Dojang;
– Franck Pelou, martial arts champion, president of the Noi Gia Dao Biot Asian Arts association which flies the city’s colors with more than 160 titles won in 10 years;
– the Bioline companyrepresented by Jacques Frandonbased in Sophia Antipolis, which has distinguished itself in the field of biocontrol and crop protection.
The “Golden Bulles” trophies were created this year by the young glassmaker from Biot, Jerome Chionalias « Léo ».
For his part, Jean-Paul van Lith received the City Medal for his exceptional artistic career and for having made Biot shine beyond its borders.
