Noémie Remonnay wins gold in the short individual

Noémie Remonnay wins the first French gold medal in biathlon during the short individual. The other two French women are in the top 8.

The Winter Universiade started on Monday but the biathlon began this Tuesday with two short individual races. If the Blues did not obtain a medal, a biathlete from Franche-Comté brought the gold medal back to . Noémie Remonnay shot 18 out of 20, enough to win today in Lombardy. The 23-year-old athlete won ahead of Polish Amelia Liszka (20/20) and Ukrainian Daryna Chalyk (16/20).

France did not come far from another medal during this race. Amélie Broutier was on the podium during the last shot but made three mistakes on her last stand. The pharmacy student failed in 5th place, 30 seconds behind the bronzed charm. Same observation for Lisa Siberchicot, who, with three faults, finds herself 8th, 45 seconds from the podium.
