Man found dead in a house in Rennes: an investigation into intentional homicide opened

Saturday January 11, when they had been alerted to the abnormal straying of dogs in the neighborhood, police officers discovered in the middle of the afternoon the body of a man aged around 45, in a house on rue Alexandre -Ribot, near the Eastern cemetery, in Rennes. An investigation into intentional homicide has since been opened, Rennes public prosecutor Frédéric Teillet confirmed in a press release this Monday evening. She was entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS).

Stab wounds “to the chest and throat”

It must be said that the first findings of the investigators support the theory of homicide: the man, “probable” resident of the premises and “consumer of narcotics” according to the prosecution, “in fact presents wounds on his defense as well as several wounds by stabbing to the torso and throat.” Blows which “were the cause of death”, according to the autopsy carried out this Monday. In this case, there have been no arrests to date.
