Nick Kyrgios has once again made headlines by targeting Jannik Sinner after a post from Cruz Hewitt, the son of Tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt, after a training session with the ATP world number one.
“I love you Cruz, but this is not good. Contaminated post!” said the controversial Australian, a remark that did not sit well with former tennis coach Rennae Stubbs.
In his podcast, The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast, Stubbs, who once guided Serena Williams to success, did not mince his words. She criticized Kyrgios and stressed the need for him to demonstrate maturity and self-discipline.
His comment on Cruz’s post came after discussions with the world number one, who is coached by Darren Cahill, Lleyton’s former mentor. Cahill played a key role in Lleyton’s career, helping him reach the pinnacle of world tennis, and their bond is incredibly strong,” Stubbs explained.

“They’re both from Adelaide, so it’s no surprise that Cruz was invited to train with Sinner at the iconic Rod Laver Arena. Naturally, Lleyton and Cruz jumped at the chance—it is an opportunity not to be missed for any aspiring young tennis player However, making fun of the boy on social media is simply inappropriate. If Kyrgios wants to joke, he should do it in private rather than risk public embarrassment.

During this training session, Cruz had the chance to play on the courts with Jannik at the famous Rod Laver Arena. The young Hewitt posted two snaps, one immediately after their practice and another archive image of himself alongside the South Tyrolean when he was just a child.
