The Côte-d’Or prefecture announces an episode of extreme cold in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté regions, with a yellow vigilance in effect until Wednesday, January 15 at noon. This cold peak will be accompanied by freezing temperatures and a steady wind. The sky will remain clear.
Negative temperatures and persistent wind Monday
During the day on Monday, maximum temperatures will hardly reach 0 to 2 degrees in the plainwhile the heights will remain frozen. With bursts of wind up to 50 km/hthe temperatures felt will remain between -5 and -1 degree.
The night from Monday to Tuesday will be the coldest of this winter episode. Minimum temperatures will drop to -9 to -4 degrees in the plain and will be felt between -12 and -7 degreeseven -18 degrees on the heights. Despite a slight respite from the wind on Tuesday, temperatures felt during the day will peak between -3 and 1 degree.
Temperatures above zero
From Tuesday evening, clouds coming from the north of the Grand-Est will limit the drop in nighttime temperatures in the north of the region, but the minimums will be between -7 and -3 degrees Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday, a rise in temperatures is expected during the day, with feelings returning above zero. The yellow alert for extreme cold should therefore be lifted on Wednesday at noon.
