Preview: January 12 Game – Stars v. Senators

The Ottawa Senators are back at home while the Dallas Stars are the visitors in a second game in two nights starting at 5 p.m. (ET) on Sunday. This will be the second and final time the Senators will face the Stars this season and there are a limited number of tickets remaining for this game by clicking HERE.

Fans who are unable to attend the game can follow it on TSN5 or RDS2, or listen live on the radio on TSN 1200 or Unique FM.

The Senators will take to the ice after posting a convincing 5-0 victory over the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. This victory was the 1100th in the club’s history and achieved thanks to two goals from Shane Pinto and those from Tyler Kleven, Drake Batherson and Tim Stützle. Goalie Leevi Meriläinen earned his first career NHL shutout, stopping all 30 shots he faced. The shutout was the Senators’ sixth this season, an NHL high.

The Senators last faced the Stars on January 2 in Texas, in what was Ottawa’s first game of 2025. The game ended in a 4-2 loss, with Brady Tkachuk and Ridly Greig scoring the Senators’ goals. Tonight’s game will be an opportunity to redeem themselves and tie their series of meetings 1-1 this season.

As was the case for Ottawa, the Stars were in action on Saturday against the Canadiens in Montreal. It was a close match won 2-1 in the shootout by the Stars.

Prior to tonight’s game, Senators President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Steve Staios will hold his mid-season press briefing at 3:30 p.m. ET. To watch this event live, please visit the Senators website.

After a big victory on Saturday, the Senators will be looking for a second straight win. Don’t miss this opportunity and get your hands on your tickets HERE while they’re still available!
