Some rivers overflowed in Brittany on Friday January 10. Several departments have been placed on high orange vigilance.
Concrete blocks to raise boards. The only exit for local residents in Guipry-Messac (Ille-et-Vilaine) is a makeshift pontoon, it is impossible to put your feet on the ground. Water has even found its way into businesses.
Along the quays, the inhabitants of the town observe the rising waters, fueled by the heavy rains of recent days. Several rivers overflowed in Brittany. In Guipry-Messac, a neighborhood was surrounded by the waves. Seven people had to be evacuated by firefighters.
In the department, Pont-Réan is the other commune affected by the flood. The flow of the current impresses local residents. The intense rains also affected Calvados, where fields and roads were flooded, such as in Bretteville-sur-Dives. On the evening of January 10, several departments remained placed on orange alert for the risk of flooding.
