The Ottawa Senators face the Penguins in Pittsburgh for the second of their three games this afternoon at 4 p.m. (ET). The Senators players will be motivated as they try to end a four-game losing streak.
Fans can watch this match on TVA Sports or TSN5, or listen to it live on the radio on Unique FM or TSN 1200.
The Senators’ last game was Thursday night, when they played their first home game in almost a month when they hosted the Buffalo Sabres. It was a tough game, with the team shut out by goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to lose 4-0.
Yesterday, the Senators made two personnel moves by recalling forwards Matthew Highmore and Zack MacEwen from their American League farm club in Belleville.
Highmore played 23 games with the Senators this season, recording two goals and eight assists for a total of 10 points. As for MacEwen, he shared the 2024-2025 season between Ottawa and Belleville. In 19 games with the big club, he scored three points, two goals and an assist. In Belleville, MacEwen played 14 games, scoring five goals and four assists, for nine points.
The Penguins come into the game with wind in their sails after winning 5-3 against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night.
In the first matchup against the Penguins this season, at home on December 14, the Senators emerged victorious. Drake Batherson and Thomas Chabot both scored for the Sens, while captain Brady Tkachuk scored the winning goal in overtime to give his team a 3-2 victory.
As is still the case this year, the Senators faced the Penguins on three occasions during the last campaign. The Senators swept the series 3-0, with two overtime wins. The Ottawa team will try to continue its domination against the Penguins this evening, hoping to sweep this series again. As they already lead the latter 1-0, this match will present a great opportunity to build momentum.
