Skoda is one of the favorite brands of the French, who appreciate the sober style and the solid price/performance ratio of its models. The range is expanding this year to include a family SUV, the Elroq, which with its 4.49 m. enters into direct competition with the formidable Renault Scénic (4.47 m.). To convince, the Czech relies on its habitability, thanks to a wheelbase of 2.76 m. which preserves plenty of space on board for passengers, who also have a large 470 l trunk.
But we find one of those tricks that make Skodas interesting, namely a hidden net under the luggage cover to accommodate the charging cables. This is in addition to the traditional umbrella in the door and window scraper in the fuel filler flap, always with the aim of making everyday life easier.
The Elroq is based on the MEB platform well known within the Volkswagen group, and has three types of batteries. The entry-level 55 kW is coupled to a 170 hp motor, the intermediate 63 kWh to a 204 hp motor, and the most muscular – 82 kWh please – to a 286 hp motor. So we can double! Ranges vary from 370 to 579 km, and Skoda promises a 10-80% recharge in 28 minutes (175 kW flow rate), and even 25 minutes for the 55 kW battery.
In terms of prices, the range starts at €33,300 excluding bonuses.
