The leader of the National Rally (RN), in jeans and a pink top, stands in the aisle, a handkerchief in her hand, visibly upset. The weekly’s tweet referred to an article on its site, the title of which was: “In pictures, the moment when Marine Le Pen learned of the death of her father.”
Reactions were quick to come from the RN side, with several elected officials denouncing the “indignity” of this publication, notes the Huffington Post. Jordan Bardella joined the revolt, storming on the social network ‘an indignity beyond measure. Contacted by our teams, the editorial team is delighted and takes responsibility. If dishonor had a name tonight, it would be called Paris Match.”
The weekly quickly deleted his tweet, then removed the photo in question from its online article. The title has also been changed: “How Marine Le Pen learned of the death of her father”, we can now read. Jordan Bardella, president of the RN, also withdrew his publication. The famous photo continues to circulate on social networks. Marine Le Pen learned of her father’s death during a technical stopover in Nairobi, Kenya, informed by journalists who accompanied her.
