Marine Le Pen, who had so far remained silent after the announcement of the death of her father Jean-Marie Le Pen, spoke on the social network X this Wednesday morning. “A venerable age had taken the warrior but had given us back our father. Death came to take him back from us. Many people he loves are waiting for him up there. Many people who love him are mourning him down here. Fair winds, fair seas, Dad!”, she tweeted.

Jean-Marie Le Pen died on Tuesday at the age of 96 in Garches in Hauts-de-Seine, in an establishment where he had been admitted several weeks ago. His daughter, Marine Le Pen was not at his side since she was traveling to Mayotte, a few weeks after Cyclone Chido passed through the archipelago.
The president of the National Rally group in the National Assembly had learned of her father’s death from journalists, themselves alerted by the AFP dispatch, during a stopover in Kenya during the flight which transported her from Mayotte to Paris. “Marine Le Pen was not aware, her advisor showed her the AFP alert,” explained our special correspondent on site.
