Patrick Labbé makes controversial remarks after the disappearance of his character in STAT

To say the least, it’s a brutal return for STAT fans. The start of the year was marked by dramatic events.

Barely two episodes after the resumption, the St-Vincent hospital team had to say goodbye to two important members of their team: social worker Delphine Martin and psychiatrist Philippe Dupéré.

The death of Philippe Dupéré has aroused strong emotion throughout Quebec and viewers are truly in shock at this loss. Although he was seriously injured following the attack, no one imagined that he would succumb, especially after the loss of his colleague.

Well on Patrick Labbé’s side it’s the same thing and the actor was not kind to the production when he learned that it was killing his character.

Still in an interview with 7 Jours magazine he poured out his heart over this sad surprise.

”My agent called me 22 times, I was filming. He told me that Philippe was going to die. I still remember the uneasiness and discomfort of that day. It was almost two months ago.

I left the set at the beginning of December. The reality was that Philippe was dead, that it was all over for me, but that was the punchline. So, throughout the holidays, I had to endure this last straw of not being able to say anything and feeling all these emotions. – Patrick Labbé

He admits not understanding the decision to make three characters disappear in such a short time.

”Was it necessary? The question arises. Is it flat for us: yes. Does this shake the cage? Certainly. Having the rug pulled out from under you is never pleasant.

The actor describes the last two days of filming as particularly trying, where his character, bedridden in hospital, received moving visits from his colleagues, in tears. ” You could say that was the nail in the coffin’he remembers.

This departure leaves the new grandfather without any plans for the moment, but he intends to be back on our screens soon.

This experience of losing such an important role and so abruptly made him think a lot about sometimes believing that things have no end.
