This is one of the most viewed “reels” in recent weeks on the Instagram account of the International Ski Federation (FIS). It highlights the Slovenian group Cik Cak, well known to local après-skiers, and whose particularity is to pay homage to the ancient glories of skiing, while trying to resemble them.
Among the skiers imitated, last weekend on the stage of Kranjska Gora, host site of the Women’s World Cup: Ingemar Stenmark, also star singer of the whole clique, Alberto Tomba, Bode Miller, Franz Klammer and Marcel Hirscher, both worse if the latter returns to service this winter. Also note the presence of two Swiss, in this case Joel Gaspoz and Michael Von Gruningen in his silky “cheese” jumpsuit. Everyone sang the group’s flagship hit: “Cik Cak”, the kind that stays in your head.

The group is made up of members of the Slovenian UPS team and includes both (former) skiers and coaches. Here they combine their passions for skiing and music, but also for partying, since the title “Cik Cak”, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary this year, was designed to ignite the après-ski crowds. The success was such at the foot of the Slovenian slopes, near Cerkno, Krvavec or Kranjska Gora, that a German version was launched in 2022.
