Line-ups of Real Madrid against Mallorca in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup

Brazilian star Vinicius will be available for the match after his action with Dimitrievski resulted in a two-match suspension, which will only apply in La Liga. This is good news for Carlo Ancelotti, who took the entire squad to Saudi Arabia, with the exception of the injured players. Included in the squad for the first time this season, central defender David Alaba is also present, although he is expected to remain on the bench for the moment.

Ancelotti will have his full squad at his disposal, except for Carvajal and Militao, whose return is unlikely until the latter stages of the season due to serious injuries. Additionally, the Italian coach brought in several young players, such as Raúl Asencio and Diego Aguado, both defenders. Here is the expected starting XI for the Merengues against Mallorca:

In goal, Thibaut Courtois will start, as expected. The Belgian goalkeeper is unquestionable in his position and, although Lunin offers a reliable alternative, Courtois has played every match since overcoming his physical problems. After being rested during the Copa del Rey against Deportivo Minera, where the Ukrainian goalkeeper got a few minutes of play, Courtois will return to the starting lineup.

In defense, Ancelotti’s starting line is quite clear. This is the established backline that has solidified following injuries, with Antonio Rüdiger leading the defense alongside a repositioned Aurélien Tchouaméni. On the flanks there is also no doubt, with Lucas Vázquez on the right in the absence of Carvajal and Ferland Mendy operating on the left.

Midfield is where the most variation could occur in Ancelotti’s XI. Modric’s inclusion could lead to a reshuffle of names, although the favorites to make up the midfield are Camavinga and Fede Valverde. Jude Bellingham would naturally take the role of second inside or the ’10’ if Carletto opts for a double pivot behind.

Finally, it is unlikely that there will be any surprises in the offensive trio. If Vinicius had received a harsher punishment, Brahim would probably have taken his place. With the Brazilian available, Ancelotti will opt for his star-studded attacking trio with the ‘7’ on the left, Mbappé in the ‘9’ position and Rodrygo on the right.
