Donald Trump wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico ‘America’s Gulf’

Donald Trump announced this Tuesday, January 7, that upon his return to the White House, the United States would change the name of the Gulf of Mexico, on the southern coast of the country, to the “Gulf of America”.

“We’re going to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which sounds good and covers a lot of territory. The Gulf of America, what a nice name,” the future US president said at a conference press conference at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. The president-elect also castigated Mexico which “must stop letting millions of people flow into our country”.

“Economic force” against Canada

During his speech, Donald Trump once again mentioned his desire that Canada must “merge” with the United States. The future tenant of the White House threatened to use “economic force” against Canada. The Republican threatened to impose 25% customs duties on his neighbors as soon as he returned to power in January.

The inauguration of Donald Trump, who will mark his return to power, will take place on January 20.
