We know well that the British actor is not someone who wants to share everything with the public, and this is precisely the reputation he maintained during his 6-year relationship with Taylor Swift. On the other hand, when he broke up with the latter, Joe saw a large increase in the number of people who followed his every move, both digitally and in his daily life, and who commented on his content.
As you might expect, a good portion of these people were Taylor fans, fired up by the breakup and disappointed that their idol was unable to experience what seemed to be the love of his life. At that time, Alwyn had spoken to Times on the difficulty of a separation experienced in the spotlight, confiding that “ending a long romantic relationship is difficult for everyone, but it is unusual for the whole world to get involved a week later”.
-Additionally, rumors had been sparked about him being linked to his co-star in The BrutalistEmma Laird, going so far as to say that Joe had left Taylor Swift to be with her since the latter had included him in an Instagram post; suffice to say that all this had made the actor even more tired of what the Web could say about him.
He claims, however, that he has now moved on, revealing to TMZ that “he chose to focus on what matters most to him: his family, his friends and his career.” Determined to leave it all in the past, he said in an interview that his family and friends allow him to “keep his feet on the ground.”
A year and a half after distancing himself from his ex, he wishes to continue to ignore the “noise” of Internet users who comment on his fallen romantic relationship. He said: “If you let all these other things in, it starts to affect you and make you feel like you’re living your life from the outside. […] then you’re pretty much in the shit.”
So Joe’s New Year’s resolution is to leave all toxicity behind, in 2024!
