Ernesto Hidalgo, nicknamed “El Dominique”, has been playing the sport for over 50 years, primarily as a power forward and defensive midfielder, distinguishing himself in this city’s local leagues.

His footballing journey began in 1965 playing for Botafogo in the third division, participating in matches on pitches behind the municipal cemetery, now replaced by Ciudad Universitaria, as well as on other pitches in the city . Later, he defended the colors of the Casa de la Juventud in the third division, led by Gonzalo Herreros. His teammates included Ignacio Contreras, Adrián “La Quina”, Roberto Escamilla “El Chato”, Raul Aldape “El Danzón”, Salvador Contreras, Juan Vargas and a goalkeeper nicknamed “El Santo”, to name a few. ounces.
