Prices for the Tracer 9 range at Yamaha in 2025

Yamaha has strengthened its Tracer 9 range for 2025 with a complete offer between the Tracer 9 and the Tracer 9 GT+ Y-AMT. In the end, it’s a real family around this engine-chassis platform with no less than five models.

At Yamaha, the Tracer 9 is a strong model. It is a technical and commercial success for the Japanese manufacturer because this model has survived the years, evolving little by little since its first marketing in 2015, ten years ago. At the time, we sensed a good move from Yamaha by headlined “towards a clear success”. Certainly, the first generation had room for improvement in terms of road behavior, particularly in a loaded duo with pronounced swaying when accelerating. Subsequently, Yamaha corrected the situation with a 2018 generation that was much more stable thanks to a wheelbase extended by six centimeters, to cure great ills! This Tracer 900 GT remains an excellent motorcycle today.

Yamaha then greatly evolved the large-displacement Tracer to make it Tracer 9 and no longer Tracer 900 (+42 cm3 to reach 890 cc). It was 2021 and Yamaha already enjoyed an excellent market position with this benchmark Sport-GT. A few updates for 2023 with adaptive cruise control and a more readable dashboard have almost made this motorcycle a complete offering but Yamaha still finds something to bounce back with this successful motorcycle. For 2025, it meets the Euro5+ standard, but also adopts the possibility of receiving the Y-AMT intelligent transmission as an ex-factory option, as well as so-called “matrix” lighting. Evos, always evos for a motorcycle that is constantly moving upmarket and therefore, also, in price.

It gives us food for thought when we see the evolution of certain motorcycles on the market and the inflation that has affected them. The Tracer 9 GT+ 2025 is certainly “packed” with technologies, but are they all essential and is the bike so different from the first vintage? The price gap (€18,999 in 2025 compared to €9,999 for the standard Tracer 900 in 2015) appears simply gigantic today, even if we can compare the standard Tracer 900 from 2015 to the standard Tracer 9 from 2025 to 12 €499 because they are more comparable in terms of equipment. In any case, the price of the Tracer 9 GT+ 2025 leaves you wondering; it is decidedly high-end and no longer really popular.

Tracer 9 2025 range: all prices

  • Tracer 9 : 12 499 €
  • Tracer 9 Y-AMT: €13,699
  • Tracer 9 GT : 15 699 €
