Strong winds in : parks are closed this Monday, January 6

The wind is blowing hard this Monday in . Despite temperatures worthy of a month of May, Île-de- and its capital are placed on orange alert for “strong winds” from 9 a.m. this Monday, January 6 in the morning for the passage of storm Floriane. Gusts of up to 110 km/h are expected in places.

“Over the northern half of the country, storm Floriane will circulate quickly but intensely during the day on Monday,” explained Météo France on Sunday.

Due to the gusts announced by Météo France, the city has decided to prohibit public access to all its parks, gardens and cemeteries all day, the municipality announced Sunday evening in a publication on X.

Already on Saturday, this time due to an orange “snow and ice” level, the City had closed all green spaces early from 6 p.m.

Green spaces are not the only ones to suffer from this weather since public transport will also experience its share of disruptions. The SNCF announced a series of measures for departments placed on orange alert, ranging from speed reductions on certain lines, to the absence of service to certain stations, including “traffic stops”.

In Paris, several RER, TER but also TGV lines departing from or destined for the capital are affected by these complications.
