DreamWorks’ marvelous animated sci-fi film, “The Wild Robot,” is shaping up to be another hit. The film was released in theaters on Friday September 27, 2024 and was very warmly received by critics and viewers. As of this writing, it has grossed nearly $325 million in worldwide box office sales and holds a 97% critic rating and a high 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
“The Wild Robot” was already garnering attention for its impressive visual stylings and star-studded voice acting, and now that audiences have confirmed it’s a great watch, it’s no surprise that many viewers Prospects are already trying to find out when “The Wild Robot” is coming to streaming. And now it’s official: “The Wild Robot” will be broadcast on bait Friday January 24.
The film follows a shipwrecked robot, “Roz” (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o), who learns to adapt to his new environment while building relationships with the island’s animals and caring for an orphaned gosling .

“The Wild Robot” will be broadcast on bait Friday January 24. The news came as Universal, Dreamworks’ parent company, announced that the film would return to theaters on January 17. As with previous Universal animated films, it will be available on Peacock for four months before heading to Netflix.
That means there will be 119 days between “The Wild Robot’s” theatrical release on Sept. 27 and its streaming debut. This is a slightly faster streaming release schedule than “Migration” and “Trolls: Band Together,” both of which debuted 120 days after their theatrical release. Meanwhile, “Kung Fu Panda 4” took just 106 days to arrive at Peacock.
Until then, “The Wild Robot” is now available to purchase or rent on Premium Video-On-Demand (PVOD) services like Prime Video.
