The actor died on Sunday January 5, 2025, his 82nd birthday. It was his friend, director Lionel Auguste, who shared the news on Facebook:
“Benoît Allemane, a friend I shared with many, many people, passed away last night. He had just celebrated his 82nd birthday. Great actor, immensely popular voice, great gentleman, and modestly, handsome and sweet friend who had given me the honor and pleasure of participating in my 3 films.”
The voice of the French actor perfectly matched that of his American counterpart, also known in the English-speaking world for his recognizable and unique tone of voice.
A rich and eclectic career
But Benoît Allemane is not just Morgan Freeman in the cinema. We could also hear his voice in the Looney Tunes since he voiced Charlie the rooster or even Baloo in the animated series Super Baloo et The Jungle Book, childhood memories. Above all, spectators will undoubtedly remember Zeus in the Hercule from Disney (1997).
