A 70-year-old man lost his life in a snowmobile accident during the night from Saturday to Sunday in Nord-du-Québec.
-It was passers-by who discovered the snowmobiler inert, on his vehicle, around 3:30 a.m., on Chemin des 8e et 9e Rangs, in Val-Paradis, a municipality located approximately 50 kilometers north of La Sarre.
First aid was given to the man but without success. His death was pronounced at the hospital. An investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident, but everything suggests that the man lost control of his vehicle and came into contact with a guardrail.
explains Sergeant Stéphane Tremblay, of the Sûreté du Québec.
The man is a resident of the area. No other person was involved in the accident.
