The construction sites of the various mobility projects are progressing in the region, leading to changes in traffic from Monday January 6, 2025, the end of the school holidays.
Bustram first line
Construction of the first Bustram line continues for entry into service in spring 2025. Its first section will connect Place de l’Europe to Notre-Dame de Sablassou, in Castelnau-le-Lez, and will serve with a high level of service, 11,500 jobs in the Millénaire and Eureka districts. Development work will therefore be carried out in the Pompignane and Pont Juvénal sectors.
Night work
Of January 6 to January 24, 2025work will be carried out at night, in order to limit the impact on traffic, in the sectors:
- Avenue de la Pompignane from Monday January 6 to Friday January 10, 2025, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. As a result, a detour will be proposed.
- Rue Henri Pequet du Monday January 13 to Friday January 17, 2025, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. et from Monday January 20 to Friday January 24, 2025, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. As a result, a detour will be proposed. Companies will do everything possible to limit the noise pollution caused by these operations.

Extension ligne 1
As part of the extension of tram line 1, which is scheduled to enter service on October 18, 2025, work is continuing in the Odysseum and Cambacérès sectors. The extension of line 1 will connect the two stations of Montpellier Saint-Roch and Montpellier Sud de France in just 20 minutes.
In order to optimize the impacts on motorists, tam and Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole are pooling operations with ALTEMED, in charge of the development of the future Cambacérès district between boulevard Pénélope and the forecourt of Montpellier Sud de France station.
From January 6 to March 10, 2025 inclusive, roadworks, electricity supply and earthworks for the future tram platform will be carried out, leading to the temporary closure of the Vauguières road and the bridge located above the A709.
During this period, motorists will be invited to use the diversion routes in place.

Ligne 5
As part of the construction of tram line 5 which will be put into service on December 20, 2025, work is progressing in the northern sectors, leading to temporary changes to car and cycle traffic.
Girac sector from Monday January 6 to Wednesday April 30, 2025
In order to finalize the developments of the future exchange hub located at the Girac roundabout, work will require the temporary closure of the cycle path from Monday January 6 until Wednesday April 30, 2025, date of reopening of the passage underground which is located under the rm65.
Montferrier-sur-lez sector (night of Thursday January 9, 2025)
For the needs of the site, road works will be carried out at night in order to limit the impact on traffic, requiring the occasional closure of an exit ramp from the RM65, from Thursday January 9 at 10 p.m. until Friday January 10 2025 at 6 a.m.

Necessary security operations on the Gambetta car park infrastructure
As a reminder, from January 6 to March 16, 2025, the line 3 route will be interrupted between Jules Guesde and Observatoire stations. During this period and with a view to minimizing nuisance for users:
Replacement bus shuttles will be put in place and will serve the stops located between Jules Guesde and Gare Saint-Roch (Pont de Sète).
In order to complete this mobility solution, line 3 will be extended from Observatoire to Place Albert 1er – Saint-Charles station, in connection with tram line 1 whose Mosson terminus is common to that of line 3.
The replacement bus shuttles will operate at the same timetable as line 3, namely between 4:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. on weekdays (until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays), with a bus approximately every 3 minutes during weekdays. peak and a bus approximately every 5 minutes during off-peak hours.
