10 years later, Stars of David tagged near the store

Almost ten years, to the day, have passed since the Hypercacher hostage taking. On January 9, 2015, Amedy Coulibaly entered the store, located at Porte de , in , heavily armed. Following in the footsteps of the Kouachi brothers, perpetrators of the attack against Charlie hebdothe terrorist killed four people of Jewish faith.

A memory which still haunts the inhabitants of the 20th arrondissement of the capital, revived by the discovery, on Sunday, of three stars of David which were tagged near the scene. A resident of Vincennes (Val-de-) discovered one on the front door of a building and in its hall, and a third star was found at another address, indicated the Créteil public prosecutor’s office which opened an investigation for “damage or deterioration of the property of others committed because of race, ethnicity, nation or religion”.

“It’s despicable”

“It inspires disgust in me, I find it absurd to tag things like that, especially during these times when we will soon commemorate the ten years of Charlie Hebdo and Hypercacher,” laments Jonathan M., 40 years old. “It’s despicable,” protests Florence M., 60 years old and resident of one of the tagged buildings, who recalls being “very close to the Hypercacher and 50 meters from the synagogue.”
