Charlie Hebdo: “We do not forget…” A week of tribute in Occitania

On the occasion of the 10^e anniversary of the attack perpetrated by Islamist terrorists against the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo on January 7, 2015, the Occitanie Region is organizing a week of tribute from Tuesday January 7 to Saturday January 11. Times of tribute, exchanges and artistic expression in the region will be organized throughout this week called “Charlie for life. »

“Bringing the Charlie spirit to life: this week of tribute is a real plea for freedom of expression and freedom of the press. It also means continuing, at all costs, the fight against racism, anti-Semitism, fundamentalism, conspiracy,” indicated the PS president of the Region, Carole Delga.

“We do not forget the victims of Montrouge and the Hyper hide. Among the highlights, this Tuesday, January 7 at 11:30 a.m., a meditation in the Regional Hotels in Toulouse and Montpellier and in all regional buildings. From 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., screenings will take place retracing, in images and drawings, the week of January 7 to 11, 2015 at the two Regional Hotels. Screenings which will continue Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Wednesday January 8, a train will leave Montpellier station towards Toulouse (arrival 7:06 p.m.) with the cartoonists Sié, Gab, Willis from Tunis and Agnès Marie on board. Objective of this event organized in partnership with the Press Club: to raise public awareness of caricatures.

Friday January 10 at 6 p.m. will be the opening of the exhibition “Charlie’s Humor” on the square in front of the Hôtel de Région in Toulouse, organized in conjunction with the “Draw, Create, Liberté” association. Following this, a large gathering will take place in tribute to Charlie Hebdo and the victims of terrorism, organized at the Hôtel de Région in Toulouse in the presence of members of the Charlie Hebdo editorial staff.

Raise awareness among young people
