Raise awareness among young people
This week of tribute is also an opportunity for the Region to release a special issue of the “Journal de Ma Région” including a Youth supplement “10 years after the Charlie Hebdo attacks”. “It seemed essential to us to make the younger generations, who were then not old enough to appreciate the importance and consequences, understand what happened on January 7, 2015. Why did Charlie Hebdo Was he targeted? What is satire? What is freedom of expression? Freedom of the press? Its limits? Social networks? », Indicates the regional council.
An important initiative because among the subjects that stir up debates around secularism, the generational question has taken on real importance in recent years as shown in a recent study by the Jean Jaurès Foundation. “If lines of division within young people exist, they are multiple and articulate in particular political and religious affiliations and a feeling of being at ease in an open world,” indicated the Foundation.
