It wasn’t just stars of the cross country ski at the start. Also participating were two members of the family of Johannes Hoesflot Klæbonamely Haakon et Ane Hoesflotthe father and sister of the Norwegian champion, in Italy to accompany the five-time Olympic champion in his adventure of Ski Tour.

For the record, it was the 54-year-old father who did better than his daughter. He crossed the finish line in 40th position. The 21-year-old young woman, 56th overall, still ranked 9th among the ladies.

He is strong physically, but also mentally. I’m really proud of him.”
