Divide
- After finishing 2nd in the monobob on Saturday, Melanie Hasler must settle for 6th place in the two-man bob in Winterberg on Sunday.
- The second Swiss sled of pilot Debora Annen comes in 10th place.
- The four-man bobsleigh competition will be live here at 1 p.m.
The rather low starting number 8 proved to be a big disadvantage for Melanie Hasler in the first round of the two-man bobsleigh competition. Too much snow caused slow conditions on the Winterberg piste. Hasler and his partner Muswama Kambundji therefore only managed to finish 11th despite the fourth fastest start time in the first round.
Debora Annen, who celebrated her World Cup debut in two-man bobsleigh with pusher Julie Leuenberger, placed directly ahead of the nominally strongest Swiss sled.
Hasler gagne 5 places
In the second round, the track conditions made for a much fairer competition. Hasler/Kambundji improved their start time by another 0.01 seconds and crossed the finish line 6 tenths faster than in the first lap. This was enough to overtake 5 sleds in the decision – including Annen’s – and take the final 6th place.
-Annen, on the other hand, was not up to his pace in the second heat, but was able to defend his 10th place on the first lap. The Germans once again claimed victory among themselves. Lisa Buchwitz arrived ahead of her compatriots Laura Nolte and Kim Kalicki.
