Director Jeff Baena, husband of Aubrey Plaza, dies at age 47

Jeff Baena died at the age of 47, according to information from several American media, including TMZwhich reveals that the director was found dead on Friday January 3, 2025 at his home in Los Angeles by one of his assistants. He contacted emergency services who noticed the death when they arrived on scene, confirmed the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. It could be suicide.

Jeff Baena leaves behind his parents, Barbara Stern and Scott Baena, his brother Brad, his half-sister Bianca and his half-brother Jed, as well as his wife Aubrey Plaza. The director and the actress had been a couple since 2011. They got married in 2020, after almost ten years of relationship, as Aubrey Plaza confided to Ellen DeGeneres, in 2021: “We were a little bored one night.
