FC Barcelona calls on the CSD for the registration of Olmo and Víctor

FC Barcelona has initiated an appeal to obtain urgent precautionary measures with the aim of registering two players, in order to make them available for the Super Cup which will take place in Saudi Arabia.

Barcelona clarified that it will appeal directly to the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD) after the rejection of the Monitoring Commission of the LaLiga-RFEF Coordination Agreement, which met on Saturday, regarding the re-registration of FC Barcelona players , Dani Olmo and Victor.

Having submitted this request for urgent precautionary measures, Barcelona aim to have both players registered so that they are available for the imminent Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.

Club Azulgrana said it would “not comment further” on the matter until a resolution is reached by the CSD. Club president Joan Laporta held a meeting with the two players and coach Hansi Flick at Ciutat Esportiva.

LaLiga and the RFEF added that this decision was taken “in accordance with the literal interpretation” of articles 130.2 and 141.5 of the RFEF General Regulations, which prohibit a player whose license has been canceled from obtaining a license in the same club during the same season.

Barcelona in difficulty regarding Dani Olmo: the Spanish Federation and LaLiga reject the player’s request for reinstatement

This applies to Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who, as of January 1, 2025, were not listed among the players registered for Barcelona on the official LaLiga website. Both players were withdrawn because Barcelona, according to the institution led by Javier Tebas, failed to comply with regulatory requirements for financial control.

As a result, Barcelona was forced to apply for a new license from the RFEF under the argument of “force majeure”, which was rejected by Spanish football’s governing body.

The club could not confirm by the end of the year the receipt of part of the 100 million euros it is to receive for the rental of the VIP boxes at the new Spotify Camp Nou, a task that it succeeded this Friday after receiving international transfers from two Middle Eastern investors mentioned in the contracts.
