Derrick Rose, his dream for the Bulls tribute

On September 26, Derrick Rose decided to end his career. At 36, the former leader will receive a tribute from the Chicago Bulls on the night of Saturday to Sunday. And for his part, the Chicago native has a dream: to see his jersey number retired.

Since his trade to the New York Knicks in 2016, no one has played with #1. However, the number was assigned twice, to Michael Carter-Williams et Anthony Morrowbut the two men changed, without wearing it, facing the anger of the fans.

And D-Rose would love such a tribute.

“I’d be happy to. But it’s more up to them than me. It would be my way to get closer to the Top 75. And I only say that because it has to do with the MVP. There’s only one handful, a small group who obtained this trophy.

And to think that this way of playing, the Chicago way of playing, is not represented in the 75, it makes you think or it calls things into question a little. On the other hand, given the way people have created statues, I don’t want them!

No statue. Jerry (Reinsdorf), no statue. Please, Michael (Reinsdorf), no statue”, a smile, Derrick Rose at ESPN.

Youngest MVP in NBA history (at 22), will Derrick Rose receive this honor? For the moment, the Bulls have never communicated on such a decision. In history, Chicago has also retired 4 numbers: #4 of Jerry Sloan#10 of Bob Love#23 of Michael Jordan and #33 of Scottie Pippen.
