Stephen Curry delivered an exceptional performance on Thursday night, leading the Golden State Warriors to a dominating 139-105 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Curry, who alternates hot and cold this season, was on fire, shooting a perfect 8/8 from three points despite an injury to his right thumb, which he had bandaged.
A record performance
The 36-year-old star finished the match with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in just 30 minutes of play. This victory allows the Warriors to improve their record to 17 wins for 16 losses this season.
In this match, Stephen Curry also broke a major record.
He surpassed Michael Jordan for the most games of 30 or more points by a guard 35 or older. Michael Jordan held this record with 39 games, but thanks to his performance against the Sixers, Curry now has 40.
Recent ups and downs for Curry
This brilliant performance comes after a series of up and down matches for Stephen Curry. Over the last 10 days, the best three-point scorer of all time has had a difficult evening: only 2 points with 0/7 shooting, marking the worst performance of his career.
A few days later, he scored 10 points at 2/13 shooting (including 2/9 three-pointers), followed by an 11-point game at 4/14 (3/11 three-pointers) against the Pelicans.
However, Curry has also shined in some recent meetings. He scored 31 points, with 10 assists and 3 rebounds against the Grizzlies, followed up with 38 points and 8 successful three-pointers, and recorded a game of 22 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
