The closure of Fnac reflects a broader trend on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. Like the Virgin Megastore, which closed its doors in 2013, Fnac is moving towards luxury boutiques, high-end restaurants and event spaces. Luxury definitely seems to be king here.

Despite this closure, Fnac continues to play a key role in the French cultural landscape. With nearly 160 stores in France and a booming e-commerce site, the brand intends to continue its commitment to culture and accessible household appliances.
