While Blake Lively filed a complaint against Justin Baldoni on December 20, the actor and director of Never again responded by filing his own complaint. People revealed the exclusive details contained in this complaint, including text messages and documents against the actress.
A soap opera with multiple twists and turns. On December 20, 2024, Blake Lively filed a complaint against director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior on the set of Never Again. The actress of Gossip Girl also accused him of leading a smear campaign against him, in order to damage his reputation.
But the actor obviously doesn't intend to let this happen. Justin Baldoni in turn filed a complaint on January 1, 2025, and at the same time pursued the New York Timeswhich published a detailed article on December 21 revealing the actress' complaint and retracing the case. “The truth will shock everyone who was manipulated and believed a blatantly false story,” his lawyer Bryan Freeman said a few days before the complaint.

In an interview given to NBC News unveiled this January 3, 2025 and whose comments were reported by People the actor's lawyer revealed some details of his client's complaint. “We plan to publish all the text messages exchanged between the two of them,” he told NBC News. “We want the truth to come out. We want the documents published. We want people to make their decision based on these documents.”
A giant complaint against New York Times
But Justin Baldoni did not only target the actress in his response. He also announced that he had filed a complaint against the New York Times for defamation, invasion of privacy and disclosure of false information and finally, implicit breach of contract. The actor is seeking no less than $250 million in compensation. He also accuses the actress and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, of having put pressure on the agency WME, which represents him, to end his contract.
The American newspaper responded by declaring that its article was “meticulous and responsible”. “We plan to vigorously defend ourselves against the charges.” For their part, Blake Lively's lawyers reacted, indicating that “nothing in this lawsuit changes anything to the claims made in Ms. Lively's complaint to the California Department of Civil Rights.”
