This Thursday, January 2, a sixty-year-old died after colliding head-on with a vehicle while she was traveling in the wrong direction on a highway in Pas-de-Calais, killing the driver of the car and seriously injuring her passenger.
A fatal collision causing the temporary closure of the A16. A 61-year-old driver drove the wrong way on this Pas-de-Calais motorway this Thursday, causing two accidents, the second of which led to her death and that of a motorist she hit.
The sixty-year-old first triggered a first clash at the Herquelingue toll barrier, near Boulogne-sur-Mer. The department’s prefecture told AFP that no injuries were reported after this incident.
However, the driver continued on her way and died after again colliding with a vehicle, of which the 52-year-old motorist was also killed. The victim’s passenger, aged 46, was hospitalized in an absolute emergency, firefighters said.
-After this terrible collision, the A16 was cut in the Paris/Boulogne-sur-Mer direction and a traffic jam of a few kilometers formed upstream of the accident, alerted the road surveillance unit of the zonal prefecture.
